The University of Alicante's wireless network is an extension of the Local network of the University of Alicante which allows access to the Internet and other telematic services without having to have a fixed network connection.
This service is available in 99% of the Campus of San Vicente to all members of the University community and its purpose is to provide accessibility to users to computing resources of the UA. It is technology-based wireless IEEE 802.11 g which allows data transmission up to a speed of 54Mbps. Communication is done through radio frequency between the mobile device (laptop, mobile, PDA, etc.) and a series of antennas (access points) distributed by the University campus. The mobile device should incorporate a wireless card in order to establish communication with the nearest access point. In some parts of the campus there are already available antennas with N technology, as the General Library and Polytechnic School I.
